Program area

Interreg IV A North 2007-2013 covers Northern Sweden, Northern Finland, Northern Norway including the Sápmi.

In Sweden, the following areas are covered : the whole county of Norrbotten as well as the municipalities of Skellefteå, Sorsele, Malå and Norsjö in the county of Västerbotten. Other parts of Västerbotten are entitled to support as "adjacent areas".

In Finland, the areas of Lappland, Northern Österbotten and Central Österbotten are covered.

In Norway the counties of Finnmark, Troms and Nordland are being included in the program.

Sápmi sub-program covers, on the Swedish side, besides the regions named above also the county of Jämtland and parts of Dalarna (Idre Sami village area). Västernorrland county is included in the Sápmi sub-program as an "adjacent area". On Norwegian side, Sápmi sub-program also covers North and Sörtröndelag counties as well as part of Hedmark municipality.
