| Project Name | Material testing of nanocomposite structres (NAKOMATE) |
| ProjectDescription | The project aims to work across the Nordic borders (northern Sweden and Finland) to develop and evaluate opportunities with the use of nanocomposites and nanocomposite reinforced composites. It is intended that the project will encourage cooperation between both research providers and industry. The project will be jointly carry out research and disseminate results to the composite industry that can utilize the results by using these innovative materials and composites in commercial products, thereby contributing to both economic growth and environmental benefits. The research project will be focused on evaluating the potential for improved properties of nanocomposites and nanocomposite reinforced composites. In addition, the NDT-methods for the materials will be evaluated.
The industry will benefit from the project by the availability of qualified skills in areas such as materials testing and simulation will be improved. In addition, you get a better understanding of the possibilities of nanocomposites and their properties. Such skills will improve its competitiveness in the international market. There is also a possibility that the project will generate spin-off effects and ideas into commercial products in industries such as electronics and metrology.
